Very nice...how many pounds of boost are you going to be running?

You like the greddy e-01.. ?? Thing is too advanced for me.. everytime i turn my car on initally it flashes ERR in the top corner & the gauge doesnt work/read anything.... i shut the car off and turn it back on and then the ERR goes away and the guage works... I m thinking i might go back to a manual boost controller...whats your opinion on the greddy e-01 digital boost controller vs. a manual boost controller..?? I heard manual's deliver boost better...this true?

here is a pic of the rear EVO DAVE IS THE MAN

anyway time to answer some questions
In all my cars I run Greddy boostcontrollers.. The EO1 used to be in my race car... so I could run 34 psi... I think it is a great boost controller as it was the only one that could up the boost almost 3 TIMES the spring pressure in my dual wastegate set up. The white car has a pRofec A and the colt has a Profec B
it really comes down to preference. out of all of them I prefer the A because you do get fuzzy logic as well as visual display.
I like the EO1 as I can add a harness to the main brain... so I can tap my narrow band output from the wide band directly into the EO1 set up so I Can datalog those functions.
as far as your error goes.... you might need to update your software for the controller.

check out the above site for accessories and updates.
The eo1 is a little more difficult to set up but once you get the set % and gain values ... you will be all set . LMK if you need help setting it up or getting it to work

antilag how do you like that stiffy? i have heard some good things about it but i am not really sold on it yet... waht you think about it? oh and the car looks unbelivable... how hard was it to black out the head lights?

G'sEVO... the ingalls piece is quite nice... I bought it basically to get rid of the drivetrain lash in the rear... when I am banging gears... it helped some.. but I think I need to go make some motormounts out of bowling ball material :) (which I have used in my other cars)

I drive with it on the stiffest setting... there ARE vibrations in the cabin and you can definitely feel the difference on the highest setting... but if you don't like vibrations in the cabin.. then I would keep it on the lowest setting for street use. and then turn it up during track days... For me personally I don't mind the stiffness and extra vibrations in the cabin... they are quite mild to me at least :)
oh almost forgot I did not do the headlights and tailights . I send them to evodave on EVOM and I could not be happier.. he does amazing work and he can paint them whatever color you want . YES THE TAILIGHTS ARE PAINTED not real evo 7 tailights, but if I didn;t tell you that they painted tails you would never know the difference.

oh ok sweet... looks really good.... yea vibrations airnt a problem for me... i have gotten rid of the rear diff hitting the body under hard shifts buy getting the tein coilover super street system... i love it... but do you notice a better shift with the ingalls peice? oh and if you get the Energy suspension master kit for the car that also gets rid of the clanging in the back... it definatly helps with body movement too...and they are also red which everyone knows give you the most horsepower!!!... you are lookin at like 20 to the wheels for the red bushing kit!!!! hahaha had to throw some rice logic in there lol....

So you basically upped the stiffness in the rear suspension to remove the clunking.... ? I will have to look into that suspension set up
send me some links even though I am pretty sure I know what you are talking about..From my experience... the less you make that motor pitch the easier it is going to be on your drivetrain... I understand the fact that our driveshafts are segmented and jointed.... and will pitch a little but if that motor does not pitch the easier it will be on the rest of the drive train... This pitching of the motor is what caused my chasis on the red car to split down the middle under the radiator
With the ingalls shifting is crisper, to be a little more engaged and definitely a great add on for the price..Some people might like it due to the adjustability that it has... but if you are just going to be keeping it on the highest setting... solid motor mounts might be the way to go instead... not inserts... just a solid mount... .an easy way is to take 1/4 inch steel plate and welded that to the outside of the mount and to the sleeve... but that might be a little harsh on the street....

Looking good Warren! Making me miss the Tarmac black even more. I would have preferred the tails blacked too but that is just a personal preference. Either way the car is looking great and we should definately race soon.

I think motor mounts are more race and the engine dampener is more street. The mounts are harder to install which is a downside for most people. Those defi gauges look sick. Thats what the car deserved to have in the first place.

yeah joe the more I think about it .. the rear tails should have been smoked black .. but this way it keeps it in the styling that I was looking for the car.... I know it is going to look realll nice once the FMIC is on there as well as the rims...
I am just stuck on what tire size to get 255 35 18 or 245 40 18
I don't want to roll the fenders in the rear...

as far as racing...... bring it  the evo is going to become an alcoholic in a few weeks

lol that might be a little harsh but yea i get the point... i will see what setting i like on the ingells... but heres the link to the tein coilovers.....

I don't see that you should need to roll the fenders for those 255. I could be wrong though. If I get new tires I will be running 245 or 255 on the stock wheels.

antilag_200
03-13-2006, 11:05 AM
excellent... 255s it is, since I got 9 inch rims for a reason.. it would be a shame to put a small tire on those wide bad boys :)

antilag_200
03-16-2006, 09:51 AM
Joe I found out a little info on tires
IF YOU get rims that are 18 by 9 with a 29 offset 255 35 18s will rubb and will require you to roll fenders and maybe even require you to run negative camber in the rear to clear WITH hotchkis springs that is I can not verify on other springs

the front will be fine
Just some FYI

thanks for the kind words Joe and everyone else
It is only going to get better ... Time to take it into the stealership to see if they can tell my what the F**k is wrong with my whiney TC or Tranny

MitsuJoe
03-20-2006, 09:24 AM
Well being the trans has been rebuilt I would lean on the t-case. Although I can assure I did not do anymore than 10-15 total drops from the line with that car so based on what others are reporting I do not see how with that little "abuse" could cause any major problems. At the time of the service I had them replace tranny, t-case, and rear diff fluids all with the OE Mitsu stuff. That would have been around 32k miles.

Also I wonder what the hell those blue hoses came from. They are worthless so I ordered some actual Samco hoses so I can make sure my pretty header does not kill the stock upper hose.

antilag_200
03-20-2006, 09:39 AM
I don't know what that sound is joe coming from the car and the only thing I can think of is TC because it is speed based with load
yeah those hoses I have no idea what they came for either that is why I just bit the bullet and bought some samcos and they fit just fine now

I gotcha. When I get my EVO plated I will let you drive it and hear the sounds it makes so maybe you can see if the "PIG" is worse or not. The biggest difference between the "Blue Bruiser" and the "PIG" is that your car had the tranny rebuilt. I feel so confident in their rebuild that I would almost rule it out as a whole. The drivetrain has always had a tendencey to whine in EVO's, although it is hard to say what a whine vs a problem amount of noise is.

If you want a quick AWD that does not make drivetrain noises pickup an S4. Just kidding, I know you love the car, and thoise gauges look SICK. I still want the blue ones back. Although this time they will not be going on the pillar...

You know I am the last person that wants comfort in a car :) hahha if I had it my way I would be building steel mounts for that car :)
I understand what straight cut gears in a car whine is versus something getting progressively louder.. get you car plated so we can go and cruise

HERE IS a little story

Yesterday jeremy (2g 50 trim) and I need our daily boost therapy so we decided to cruise with the toys. he was driving the 2g and I was in the evo
So we are out on this street coming to a signal and see all this smoke... low and behold its a freakin fastback mustang doing a damn burnout at the signal  ... so I pulled up next to him... this retard points at the light... and starts taunting staging or whatever the hell he was doing... I shake my head and rev a little .... go through all the gears to line up everything ... this fool is on his freakin rev limiter trying to do a freakin Pro rwd launch or something  .... LIGHT goes green ... evo out 2 cars a head on launch and running away from this bum... with a 2G in hot pursuit... :D ... so after we both shut down this fool drives past us and as he goes by his girlfriend has her hand covering her face

JOE you will never I mean never get those guages.. am I GOING TO BURN THEM IN FRONT OF YOU AND YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PUT THEM ON YOUR CAR

MitsuJoe
03-20-2006, 11:40 AM
At least give me the oil pressure guage back...that one is useful!! 8)

Nice race, way to show them slowstang guys. Maybe you should have sold him the ProM... :P

antilag_200
03-20-2006, 11:42 AM
Joe that was the worst one of the bunch ... it seemed to have a lot of delay on it .. its the sensor not the guage that causes that because basically it is an autometer sending unit ... I use the autometer stuff on my other cars.... and I have had to replace sending units almost every other month when they were daily driven
Just save up and get the other stuff :)

MitsuJoe
03-30-2006, 09:30 AM
So not even autometer makes good enough stuff? I don't want to replace a sending unit every 3-6 months. For all that trouble I would rather buy a better sending unit/gauge. Any ideas?

BTW: That is a nice sig pic!

antilag_200
03-31-2006, 08:27 AM
Hey Joe,
Now it is not always practical to buy 250 dollar guages, I mean it would cost close to 2k for me to swap all the guages in my red car to something else ... I think I might have a solution... The reason why the autometer sending unit craps out is mainly due to vibrations. What one could possiblly do is instead of mounting the guage directly to the oil filter housing.. attach it to some stainless line (AN) that way the vibrations from the motor are absorbed by the line versus the sending unit. I have not tested this theory but we will be doing something similiar to this in jeremys car... results to come soon.
Yeah I like my sig too :) :D
p.s autometer makes great stuff I have only had issues with the oil pressure guage, the rest of them work just fine.
