Well, I have NO problems hosting anything...but it will DEF be different than last year....

Some of you know that my longtime girlfriend and I are NO LONGER together, so some of the family perks that I have enjoyed are gone....

But, (and Joe you remember) we CAN start planning NOW...I do have plenty of parking to meet up for a roll call, just need someone to hold the lot for our grand arrival.

I'll be in AZ for work the week before the cruise. I should be back Friday night, so I can be one of the first on the spot Saturday morning since I'm in the area. Does anyone have a spot in mind yet?

I haven't parked in the cruise in years. I think the last 2 years I just walked around.

I will be on Woodward for sure. Last year my buddy and I drove from 8 mile to 15 mile and it took us 5 hours...sucks with a manual. I might swing by if you guys have a designated area for evos. I am trying to get my wheels front splitter and rear diffuser in by then for looks. Already got my tints. Still need to get my exhaust, filter and bov for sound.

I believe they just opened up about a month ago. They've been kinda getting the "wrong crowd" there lately and one of the guys that work there is not very fond of that.

If I could talk with him about filling the parking lot full of evos for free on cruise day, would anyone be up for that??? Let me know. My brother and I will probably chat more with the owner this weekend.

They met me: grey-haired guy driving the 'Smiley' Yellow Evo, all those $$$ Ralliart parts... I was in there a week or so ago, talking to Dan Kalish (the General Manager) about using his shop for the August 4th meet, and possibly for a miEVO Dream Cruise location/hangout - as long as we'd all behave ourselves, he was all for the idea & even willing to BBQ for us!

Great bunch of people - have only heard good things about them so far.

(If we can snag his place for the WDC & run outta parking spots, we might be able to put an Evo on his lift... ;) )

And they really want a 'better' group to hang out at their shop on weekends... the kiddies & asshats are already doin' their best to ruin it there too.

Dunno whats up...I went to their place and they asked for the rice IMO. They don't do any hardcore work just the basic intake, exhaust, and wheel upgrades.

My buddie asked for a price quote on an engine swap and they just looked confused....

Anyway, Bob, sounds like you made more progress than I did. I still don't know if I am even gonna be off work for the cruise :(

BTW: Still workin on the $$$ thing...they still owe me too!

If its not during the Dream Cruise, we should do an Evo cruise sometime early August or something. A good spot to park, or meet imo would be on old woodward...across from Boarders where its a grassy "V" between old woodward, woodward. There's a bunch of spaces there, and as long as people are behaving there shouldn't be any problems with cops, and what not.

Thats where all my buddies, and I always go on Friday, and Saterday nights.. seems to work pretty good.

My brother spoke with one of the guys at Street Legal today. They have about 10 spots open for $75 each. I'll see if we can talk him down.

$50 was a little steep for me as well, but trying to find a spot for a group of people to park during the week of the cruise is going to be like trying to find a needle in a hay stack.

I was there last night and it was crazy. It might have well been Saturday for awhile there. I will be close to 11 Mile by the "Sign of the Beefcarver". My car will be on my friends front lawn, and I will be on the corner. I will wave if I see you.

Woodward was a parking-lot last night (Wed). From Pontiac to 14 mile it took me about an hour. I never got out 1st gear, which isnt fun when you have a heavy clutch, man I had a sore ankle.

I ended up parking at 13 mile and Woodward for a while, meet up with some other Clarkstonites. Saw 2 Evos, TB Evo 9, and a Silver or GG Evo 8. Seemed like everyone had either a f-body, Mustang, and/or mullet.

(on the way home I got stuck in traffic some more. EVERY stoplight I heard, hey do a burn out! WTF - AWD? And I told them that. This is what I heard...well you can still do them, you just pop the clutch and the tires will smoke. I just smacked my head into the steering wheel. I told them they were idiots. It was a zoo out there though, more so than in the past. Burnouts, fights, cops, and stupid people.)

Ill be out of town, 1st time in 10 years of living here I will be missing the WDC. Have fun everyone, and be safe. And no burnouts ;)

I was out last night with my brother. I was in my GG 8 and he was in his turbo Ranger. We started off at 11 at 9:30 and got to 14 by about 10:30 when I decided I couldn't take the clutch work anymore.

It was pretty crazy last night, and I did have a few kids yelling "burnout!" at me. I didn't see any fights, but that probably would've made the night a little more interesting.

Fortunately I live off of Coolidge and 11, so the 2 min drive isn't too bad. During the week, I wouldn't waste my time if I had to drive more than 15min to get to Woodward.

OT: Lol thats funny, I live between Greenfield and Coolidge on 11 mile. I verry rarelly see any Evos... I am pretty much right by Spectrum Auto Works. And know the guys that run that shop very well, knew them before they started that shop.

Anywho Just saying hi. I havent been to any meets yet, I have a dented hood that I don't like showing off. But, if my CF hood arrives before or on Saturday I'll be out there.

Thats pretty funny! I guess the old school guys just have not taken an Evo for a test drive! So much more of a street car than most US sportscars!

No, stock battery, just MINI-voltage! LOL. I swapped my alternator yesterday. WOW, you have to take the axle's out an everything to get it out!! What a pain.
