--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So on Fri. i went to the Chrysler dealer on Gratiot with a buddy of mine who was buying a van for his wife. I was giving him crap about that....but its understandable as his wife is about to have his second child..and thats what he wanted.
Anyway, they had a srt8 in the showroom and also one in the lot. So after sitting in the one in the showroom and talking to by friends salesman I asked if i could drive it....(really did not think he would at all). He said sure, I was The salesman did come along which i thought would ruin all the fun...but he said "as soon as we get away from the dealer you can have some fun with it... So the first light we come to he said floor it with the traction control off...and warned me it would go sideways. Sure enough, i had too ease out of it for a bit to straighten out.....then next light i did one with the t/c on. I wasn't that impressed from the stoplight...but it is over 2tons, and for that weight it moved pretty damn good! Now the real fun was on the freeway....he actually had me clear some space btwn me and the car in front of me on the ramp from Gratiot to 94...so i had plenty of room to go from 30ish to just over 100. I got on it some more on the highway were it was really fun to drive, pulled great at highway speeds. Overall i was surprised how a big and heavy vehicle could be that fun to drive. The autostick was kind of fun....since there was no manual.
The interior was pretty good for a DCX vehicle anyway lol.
So....the funny part. We get back to the dealership and the salesman was like "Since they put the supercharger on this hemi, its alot faster than the smaller motor." I was like..supercharger Quite sure this salesman had no clue now what he was talking about. So my buddy, not going to leave this alone, pops the hood and all three of us are looking at this n/a hemi. and my buddy was like where is the supercharger. The salesman points to the engine and is waving is finger around saying "its right.....there". As he points to the intake pipe going into the intake manifold. I look at hime and say...oh i see it now. We close the hood and the salesman goes inside....We bust out laughing.........
Salesman wasn't knowledgable....but kool for letting me drive the car that hard!
