Point taken. Difference is that we're not guaranteed God-like status upon arrival

So true... :(
Well, guess we gotta get our 'God-like' egos busted sometime: it'd be weird to go someplace and be "...just another Evo."
In Canada, seeing all those jaws drop & heads snap to follow us was so sweeeeet !!! 8)
Hmmm - ever wonder how much new business we generated for Canadian chiropractors?? HAHAHA!!!

Hello,
My name is Chris and I work at Mitsubishi R&D America. This email is the official launch of FactoryMOD’05. You may have heard about the MOD'05 event held at our HQ in Cypress, California. The event drew over 500 cars and 1000 enthusiasts, representing almost 20 years of Mitsu performance. We are holding a similar car-meet type event at our factory in Normal, Illinois. It is open to all Mitsubishi's (and platform cousins i.e. DSM's, Conquests, Stealths, etc...) with sectioned parking for each model, vendor displays, concept cars, and tours of the factory. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 22nd. Enclosed is a kit of banners for your website and a .pdf file of the event flyer with the essential information. Please feel free to post this .pdf on your site as you see fit. The banners are for your website use only and are really just for linking to the .pdf flyer. There is no website to link to for FactoryMOD'05. If you have any problem with the banners or the .pdf, please notify us through the mod05 email address and we will be happy to help. Any questions or RSVP information from clubs or groups can be sent to the mod05 in-box as well.
We hope to see you there in October. If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to e-mail us here at this mod05 address.
Thanks,
Chris (FactoryMOD and MOD'05 team)

If a caravan would be going to this it would make the most sense to start in Kalamazoo as this is an I94W trip. Furthermore a room in Normal would make the most sense as I don't think everyone wants to meet in Kazoo at 5AM. It is 4 hours from kazoo and would make sense to get to Kazoo say by 5-6pm on the 21st.
If I did this I would not be doing the last meet of the season at Gingerman. Although in many ways this could be way cooler as Normal is a nice town and the cool fact about it is that this is the same weekend I bought my 03' 2 years previous. Furthermore I bought it from the dealer in this town, O'Brien Mitsubishi. The same dealer my wife bought her Ralliart from, so I have actually been here a few times. I will need to see if the wife is interested in me going.

If enough people are going to make the trek, I will go. I think leaving from Kalamazoo is a great idea, hahaha.

This would be like a 5 1/2 hour trip for me total. Might be a little too much, esp since our baby is due that week :) It would be way fun if I could though......hmm.....

I'll tell you what, I'll go if I can be guaranteed a decent answer from a Mitsu tech about the P0300 code. Sorry, had to vent for a sec
My bad, that was me. Still pissed by the way.

I think the main draw for me going is to tour the plant, I'm such a dork and I get off on that kind of thing. It looks like the drive might not be *that* bad. Interstates the entire way, so could probably be done in under 5 hours.

The plant is pretty neat, it's interesting to follow a car in production. The drive sucks so bad...boring as hell...

I would like an answer on the code too! Although the code hasn't came back sense I switched back to the stock plugs. That may have something to do with it. I don't think there will be any answer about this for real. I mean it tells you something if the FQ-400 has a Motec ECU because Mitsubishi knows it won't handle the mods right. I think anyone with the P300 just needs to get a standalone ECU.

I got the day off and I am going. Anyone want to get together to make the trek? Money Pit, if no one else is in, I'll swing down and we can roll together.

I'm still planning on going - as far as I know, I'll probably be the only Evo from my area...
Looooong drive to do solo, so anybody willing to give me a place to crash for the night?

I'm still going too. I am going to bring Marc (Eclipse) down with me. I think it will be fun to check out the facility and everyone elses upgrade path. I just hope the temperature is reasonable. See you there EvoGLH.

It was awesome! Bob (EvoGLH) and I were the only Evos representing Michigan. There were probably 60 evos there. I will try to get some pics up too.

This was Great! Hopefully they'll turn this into an annual event - for a 'first-time' / 'feeling the waters' thing organized on very short notice, this turned out very well.
a few highlights:
the drummer girls from the Eclipse commercial (cool!),
goody bags (t-shirts, knicknacks, etc.),
raffle,
concept & design study vehicles,
top Mitsu people,
small (but good) assortment of vendors,
factory tour,
free food & drinks,
and best of all... more Mitsu cars & enthusiasts than I've ever seen gathered together in one place!!!
Weird that I was the only Yellow Evo! (well, other than "Booztd 3", who's car was in front of the Works booth: thanks for installing the Works-modified JDM MR BOV for me!!!)
Really enjoyed myself: if they have more events like this, I'll be there!!! Only real downside was doing a 860-mile round trip solo...
Only took a few pics. I'll try to post a couple of 'em.
