OK, the time has come to organize a SUPER SUMMER MEET! I'm taking it upon myself to organize this. I want EVERYONE there. I'm taking suggestions as to what this should include. Should we meet up at a nice local park and grill/drink/B.S or should we embarrass the local GM/Ford population at a local cruise (big time shit talkers) or set up a photo shoot and get some quality group pics or meet at my house and have an End-All GT4 bash? Your input and commitment are essential to this going off smoothly.
Personally, I say we shoot for the end of Aug./ first week of Sept. There are lots of nice parks around here and lots of good Bell's beer. Also a ton of domestic ego to kill. I really don't care what happens as long as it happens and its big.
Let the planning commence.

I think either a park 'n cruise, or maybe do an install day at your house then a cruise :)

Why not have it on a track event day. Autocross, Club track day, etc.
WMR Gratten AutoX in September comes to mind. Or maybe something at Gingerman Raceway. Cookout on the grounds. :) I'll even donate all the brat's you can eat.

the wife would not approve of car fluids all over the garage/driveway. besides, I just use my Dads mammoth collection of tools, but they are all at his work. Metro Toyota doesn't mind him working on my car on site, but you guys are out of luck :P

We could always have TWO meets! Gingerman is expensive to rent for a day. My friend used to be an instructor there, and he hosted track days, but always lost money on them.
Good ideas guys, keep them coming!!

I meant have it at an existing event or in other words, piggyback with another club event. Entry fee only.

How about a tour through Bell's Brewery then a park BBQ?

I like Otter's idea. I would like it to go like this...brewery around 1pm, park at 3-4pm, cruise at 8pm, leave by 12-1am. That would be great. I would really enjoy this.
Racing would be great too, although I don't want to make racing the main event because it will deter those that just want to hang out.
I am planning to go to Grattan 100% so that means I would personally want to set a date around 9-10-05. How would this work for everyone?

I think the multiple-location idea would be great! I will scout out a good park location this weekend. My neighbor/friend is in love with his grill, and has volunteered to handle the transportation of his grill and cooking duty for the event. He's actually pretty geeked about the premise of this day, as he is particulary fond of riding in my car. I guess anything beats rollin around in an S-10.
September 10th sounds like a good date as well. It's far enough away so that we can still plan for a few weeks, and then have a month or so to get the word around and expect a good turnout.
I will check with Bell's and see what their hours are in the fall. I can't guarentee that they will be open that early on a Saturday (it's kinda a weird place). But again, I'll check and post up what I find.
Good discussion, lets keep it going!

Well it doesn't have to be in that order, although it would still be cool. I just figured beer, food, then driving. Because you can't go to a brewery without drinking we should make that first I would imagine. Either way your doing a great job and I really appreciate it.

Any chance of doing it a week prior or a week after Sept 10th? Girlfriend's birthday and our anniversary, and she doesn't like cars... :(

I can't make it if it's the 10th...Frankenmuth car show with my dads '27 and my gf's parents '55...kinda committed...:(
But, if the date changes, I am there regardless of what we do...I wanna meet s'more people.

OK, what about 09/03/05 (saturday). This date would still work out fine for me. Joe, what about you?
Also, Bell's is having a big ass 20th ann. party on the 9th, which I figure would leave the place trashed and empty. Maybe the 3rd would work better for this.
I think I found a couple good park locations. One is a big place, lots of parking, and its close to my house, so grill transportation isn't an issue. It also has lake access in case anyones GF or wife wants to skinny dip. The lake access thing is kinda keeping me from using this location because it might get kinda busy.
There is another good park off of Westnedge (the main drag of k-zoo/portage). Not quite as big, but close to the action for cruising, clean, and a straight shot up from Bell's downtown. I think it would be pretty cool to roll out to the picnic spot in a line down Westnedge. It opens up to 4 lanes wide and would make for some sweet pics.
Let me know what people think! Keep spreading the word, I want this to be big.

OK, its official. Time to start getting serious about this. Link this up to every message board you go to.
First ANNUAL (or as long as I have my evo  ) Super-mega Kalamazoo miEVO.net summer meet. People have offered input as to what they would like to do for a couple of weeks now. Since i'll be footin the bill for this, I'm gonna make up the schedule, which follows: (i'm a nice guy, so if anyone thinks the schedule sucks, speak up)
Saturday, September 3, 2005
Kalamazoo, MI
2pm: Meet and wait for participants to arrive at Bells Brewery, (355 E. Kalamazoo Ave) downtown Kalamazoo. Have some good beer and laughs.
4pm: Move the party to Westnedge Park (Westnedge Ave, directly south of I-94). Grill out and eat some free dinner. Shoot the shit with fellow evo owners or just plain enthusiasts. Show off your car and all the hard work and money that you put into it.
8pm: Start the cruising/screwing around down Westnedge Ave. End up at the local hangout (Target on Westnedge). I want to roll in there with at least 20 evos. I will guarantee a big local turnout. Prepare for guys in Firebirds to act badass and tell you that your car is slow.
After that: Who knows, its only a 10 minute drive for me

Okay, I'm down for a meet. I'll be moving to Ann Arbor on August 26th, so this will give me a chance to unpack and then meet the local enthusiasts. :) Don't have an EVO, but I plan to when I finish Grad School. I'll be riding in my '03 OZ.
Hey Otter, maybe you and I can caravan there together if you'll be able to make it.

I'm up for a caravan, and the drive isn't too far, either. AA to Kzoo is about 1hr 15 minutes. Anybody coming from up north should meet us where 69 and 94 meet.

Sounds good. Once it gets closer to the day, we should decide what time to meet and where.
I was having fun with this new Google program called Google Earth. Here is our driving route:
