Another board I sometimes haunt started a Gran Tourismo "all wheels off the ground" picture thread. After others posted pics of a Rally car & a Subie doing dirt jumps, I couldn't resist posting this UNMODIFIED pic.

Don't try this at home, and above all - NEVER let a 10-yr-old setup your car...

So what did your kid do? Flip the wing and canards upside down?

This is gonna be a longish explanation...

My son asked to drive 'my' built-up Evo8 in GT4 while I was busy doing baby-related things. Poor kid - he's not the greatest video game player, so of course I heard a LOT of the usual engine-roaring, tire-squealing smash & crash sounds. The sounds stop & start a few times before finally stopping for good. I figured he finally got the 'feel' of the car...

When I come back into the room, he's got the TV muted & is sitting there with a 'deer in the headlights' (aka "OH SHIT!! I'm really gonna get in trouble for this!") look on his face. When asked whether something is wrong or he's just done playing, he simply said "Dad, I can't drive your Evo."

On the screen, the replay is still going - driver's POV max-speed guardrail impacts followed by LOTS of spinning sky - over & over again. Switch to other viewpoints, and I see... extremely bad driving, but the 'air time' he got from jumps / crashes, ect., had to been seen to be believed. We were both laughing so hard it hurt - 'my Evo' had been turned into a ping-pong ball on wheels!

He finally admitted that since he'd been having trouble driving the car, so he tried changing a few of the car's settings like he's seen me do - RADIAL changes to EVERYTHING (tires, gears, min/max to suspension, rideheight, shock settings, downforce, etc. - if there was a setting for it, he changed it!)

Couldn't resist taking a few 'flying high" screen captures before undoing what he'd done to my car.

BTW - my son seems to have a knack for finding glitches in games - anyone else have an Evo in GT4 that can do Mach 2??

Your son said he wanted a black EVO, although I am unsure if I want him to drive mine.... :P

I gotta start playin that game again. All this golf is cutting into my playstation time. I quit right before you can buy those special black Le Mans cars. I got a ton of money saved up for them too.

Do you guys got the steering wheel and pedal set up? That was probably the nerdy-est money i've ever spent, but it's sweet!

no but I want the steering wheel... How is the force feedback on it?

EvoGLH, I had no idea you could jump that high in the game. How did he do that? And what do you mean by Mach 2?

I've recently been try my hand at drifting an Evo and a GTO. I don't have the means to get the pics on my computer. How did you do it?

The force feedback is gnarly! It gets addicting after a while. That wheel and pedal with the 55" widescreen HD and surround sound is a wasted saturday for sure!

Use a USB flash drive to store pics & replays (feature is built into the game)

As for how my son did those jumps: I have my suspicions, but he hasn't owned up to having a cheat disc/codes.

What do I mean by Mach 2? Look at this (shitty digital photo of TV screen): the top speed shown for 'my' 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution VIII GSR is an incredible 1899.50 mph!!!
