Just put Sirius into my RA (birthday gift from my girlfriend). Very nice, so much better (content-wise) than the normal radio, and beats trying to flip through my CD case while going down the freeway. Sound quality is a bit disappointing, but I can live with that. I have the unit that ties into my Alpine head unit, so I don't have some annoying control module sticking out. Makes the daily drive from AA to Troy a bit nicer.
And just because I feel like ranting and don't want to make another thread for it, we just found out we're losing a big chunk of our deposit on our house because the taxes are going to be higher than previously thought  This really pisses us off  What good is a house if you have nothing left to put into it? Grr.

Glad to hear you like your sirus radio. I will be cancelling my XM soon. I don't use it enough. I notice the sound quaility on mine being near CD like or better. I would think Alpine would be a great unit even with XM piggybacked on to it. I know Sirus has a better selection. You didn't have the sun and sound did you? I am looking for someone to trade that stuff for the Pioneer/XM/Infinity stuff that I have. I really like the stock stuff and if I don't have XM any longer I see no need to have a different head unit.
Sorry to hear about your house foes. There is always something isn't there? Although I always thought taxes were rolled into the house payment and not paid at time of deposit. I guess I could be wrong. :!:

Thats what escrow is for. The bank overestimated our property taxes. At the end of last year, we had like $1600 extra in ours. That was pretty sweet to get that refund along with our tax refund at the same time. Hopefully next year i'll be swapping turbos with that cash

Either way if you pay too much it still came out of your pocket. I see no difference execpt having the ability to have a nice refund.

Yeah, they are really just using my money for free. But I'd rather get a refund than owe anything. Besides, they "fixed" my house payment and lowered it like $80 a month. Thats still not gonna keep me from getting a turbo
This is the definition of thread jacking.

It could be worse. I have seen far worse than this.
Satelite radio is great although with XM I would want more selection.

Nah, I didn't have sun and sound, just the basic system.
I do have an escrow account setup for property taxes, but there are two things about it. First, you have to throw in a chunk of money to get the account caught up so there's enough in it when tax time comes. Secondly, you have to pay the seller for any taxes they've paid for past the time of sale.
The reason I'm having to dump in so much is bad timing and screwed up twp taxes. Superior has massive winter taxes (around $3k for me) and tiny summer ones ($300). I'm jumping into the house right in the middle of when I need to be putting in money for the winter taxes, so I have to do 6 months worth of catching up (december to now) in order to have enough to pay when they're due again this december. On top of that, the seller has paid taxes for this entire year, so I owe him for anything he paid forward of the closing date.
This is all normal stuff for house-buying, but it doesn't make it any less frustrating. :(

Well at least you got a good stereo in your car!
I enjoy all the aside life/marriage/house chats we have on here. It makes it a comfortable place to be.

I have sirius, and love it. Gotta love the national radio with a detroit rapper station. My sound is great with clarion headunit, although get some engine interference with a/c on. Enjoy, but maybe ? install, should sound close to cd.

I'll double-check my install. I did do a rush job, but it's still clear of my amp wires, so signal shouldn't be affected. The sound quality isn't horrible, it's just about the same as FM, maybe a bit better, but not near CD.

Now if we could only share tea. :D
Got the house today, though, so it's all said and done. Then proceeded to go to the house and tear out every single bit of carpet (wood floors underneath). Now I gotta get estimates of how much it'll cost to refinish it.

You are much better off paying some to refinish the floors. Don't ask me how I know.
I prefer talking over beer, but I have no problem with tea either  .

Beer it is. :D
Definitely going to have someone else do it. Everyone who has done it themselves tells me to have someone else do it, and everyone who's seen someone else do it tells me to do it myself. Now, who am I going to listen to?
Plus, it would take me days and days to do it myself. A pro could do it in one, or two at the most.
