View Full Version : July 10 going to Lapeer Dragway!! Come on Out!
I really want to see what my car runs now with a good clutch in it lol. I have some mods I will be doing very soon so I want too see the improvements I will make.
So if anyone is interested in racing or just spectating come out for a few hours of racing. Should be fun. I plan to get there as soon as it opens...to try and find some cool air, but I am not too worried about it 'cause I know its JUly. My buddy will be going and video taping the day.
Post up if you interested!!

I am on call for two straight weeks. I am not available then. I would be interesting in seeing the results and your times though. How has that clutch broke in for you?
I took it easy for 500 miles like Matt recomended. I rarely launch the car unless I really need to  but yeah, it lauches effortlessly now. love it. Just have to get use to the noize.

Is it as bad as when we first put it together? Mayve that clutch extender rod could help. You may also want to consider putting in a stainless steel clutch line and removing the slave cylinder restrictor. Those changes are suppose to make a huge difference.
I would say its a little quiter. but the noize is just the plates spinning when pressed in. I was told they are noizy because they are not on your traditional sprung hub.
I have hear such mixed reviews of the extender rod and removing the restrictor the only one of those I think I would do would be the ss line.

I am on call otherwise I may have considered it.
well it was a hot, hot, hot day car turbo'ed cars, but we went anyway. On 94 octane my best was a 12.5 at 108 with a 1.7 sixty foot.....I did that run against a new c6 vette - he had headers with full exhaust and intake....not sure if anything else and he ran a 12.8 i believe. Thats was an awesome race...my buddy videod everything.
then we put in the race gas and I switched maps and my best was a 12.3 at 110 with a 1.6 sixty foot, i was trying to line up with this new viper....he could not launch that car at all, he was stuck in the hight 12's, ended up racing a nissan altima or some car.
Over all really happy with how it ran in the hot temps 93deg. plus.
Oh yeah I am selling the utec if anyone is interested, no problems with it, just changing my setup!
