Alright, you missed the first one at the Silver Dome. Here is your chance to take the crown for the second Detroit event. Skidpad, 300ft drag strip w/tree and 60' time, and a very fast and long AutoX (3rd gear). Win your class and shoot for the overall title. You do not work the event like at regular SCCA AutoX events. I drove almost 3 hours to check out the first event. It was such a blast, I plan to go back to the July event.

Any takers?

Does it require both days of being there?

No. They are seperate events. There is a class and overall 1,2,3 winner on both days.

I'll be just going Sat.

I can not believe there is no interest in this. We could actually set this up as a miEvo.net meet. We can have a lunch type gathering on the grounds at the event break.

That is what I was thinking! Although if I actually want to participate in the event then I need to be there for both days?

You do not need to attend or sign up for both days. Each day is a seperate event.

Sat. is usually the most popular day.

Well if I wanted to actually participate what would I have to do? Because the drive sucks I would only want to come down for one day.

You need to register and pay online for the July 16th event. They will send you a confirmation e-mail and more information later. I was there at 8:00am for tech. I will attach the link.

BTW, there is a pic of my car on the site now.

Are you racing too?

So attendance for one day I can do ALL of the events?

Yes, I will be there Sat. not Sun. and yes, you will be running all 3 events in the same day. Skidpad, 300ft drag strip, and a fast Autocross. I'm telling you it is worth it.

1) 4 laps around the skidpad for quickest time
2) 3 runs down the 300 ft. drag strip which includes the tree, reation time, 60ft, ET, and mph.
3) 3 trys at the AutoX

All 3 events times are given a point value and added together to determine your class winner and overall winner.

T-shirts, trophy's, C&D subscriptions, and cash awards are given out based on how well you did.

Car & Driver upped the ante' by paying $250 for 1st on Sat and $500 on Sun. If you look at the registration list you will see 7 STI's signed up in GT1 (basically stock class) and zero Evo's. I'm signed up in MT1 which is the Modified class along with an STI and a Camaro SS. Come join the 2-day fun and help put the STI's in there place. If your skeptical, hook up with me at the event and I'll help you through. It's going to be a riot!

Remember, it's this weekend and all you need it a heavy foot.

Should be done no later than 5pm, more like 2-3pm if it goes a smooth as last time. Joe, where are all the Evo players?

Yeah I know, it looks like I will have to fight for forum attendance mid-summer. I can build an awesome site but I can't make people log in and post. The desire must be there?
