2kc Motorfest

Where: Shooters of saginaw

When: July 23rd

Who: If you've got a bike, truck, or a bad ass car.. come on in.. we'll have a class set up for you!

Time: Registration Starts at 10am and goes until about 1pm. The car show will go all the way up until 2am with a beer tent and LIVE ENTERTAINMENT!

Cost: $15 per entry (pre-registration), $25 day of show. Admission to public is free and the beer tent (18+ after 9pm) is FREE.

Classes/Trophies: TONS... put it this way, hundreds of dollars are being spent on trophies alone. $1,000 CASH will be awarded for best of show!

Media Coverage: The entire citadel radio group will be present (WIOG, Z93, Wheelz, and Oldies 96). We will also have saginaw news coverage.

Simply put, this is not a show to be missed. OH.. I forgot to mention.. McDonaugh's amusements will be bringing in a carnival as well! Many more surprises to be announced shortly!

So where are the profits going? Portions of the proceeds will be donated to the american cancer society and the make a wish foundation.

Registration will start as soon as I get a solid listing of classes put together and a registration form drawn up (should be about a week).

I just washed, polished, touched up, and then washed again, armor-all and windows... took about 3.5 hours total. Not exactly fun.

I gotta say, some good 3M polish can make a car a few years old look like new as far as shine. I'd just wax like two or three times a year, but polish maybe 6-7 times. Polish part of one surface, and then wipe your hand across the unpolished and then polished surface, and you can feel the difference in your finger.

2kc motorfest Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Whoa, shooters parking lot is pretty small... where are you gonna put all the cars?
A: No fear there, shooters owns the 5 acre field to the west of the building. We will be using that entire field, plus some parking lot space for the show.

Q: Ok.. but if you're using part of the lot for the car show... where are patrons going to park?
A: Shooters owns plenty of land directly behind the building, that will be for overflow parking.

Q: What's it gonna cost me to come to the show if i'm not entering?
A: Not a thing! Admission is FREE to the public

Q: If i'm just coming to the show and not entering, is it going to cost anything to park?
A: Nope! Parking is also FREE!

Q: So where's my entry fee money going?
A: Portions of the proceeds go to the American Cancer Society

Q: Can I bring alcohol?
A: Nope, we will have a beer tent available!

Q: What's the latest I can register the day of the show?
A: About 2pm or so.

Q: What if it rains?
A: This is a rain or shine event, so we're going to have it no matter what!

Q: Will there be food and non alcohol beverages?
A: Yes, there will be PLENTY of food and pop available.

Q: So what is there to do at this thing besides look at cars?
A: PLENTY of things to do even for those not entering the show. For those entering a vehicle in the show there will be a burnout contest, exhaust contest, dragging competition, db sound competition, air hop/hydraulics and more! For those entering vehicles and just regular patrons we will have plenty of vendor spaces to visit, a dunk tank, live entertainment all day and a night-time dance party hosted by DJ Fade, smash-a-car (choose a weapon and beat on a junk car!), a chance to win a BRAND NEW 2005 MUSTANG, A chassis Dynamometer (for those wanting horsepower and torque stats on their vehicles), and MUCH more!

Q: I want to be a vendor at the motorfest, what does that involve and how can I do that?
A: We will have vendor spaces available! For a 10x10 space (this size is negotiable depending on your needs) it is a mere $50.00 for the entire day.

Q: Can I enter more than one vehicle?
A: Certainly! But you will pay the registration fee for each vehicle you enter.

Q: How much is it going to cost me to use the Dyno and do I have to enter the show to use the Dyno?
A: The dyno will cost $50 for 2 pulls and it will be available to ANYONE. However, motorfest entrants will get first priority.

Q: So what about this beer tent, how old do you have to be and how much does it cost?
A: To get in to the beer/entertainment tent you have to to be 18+ after 9pm. To drink in the beer tent, you must be 21 or older. Admission to the beer tent is free, but if you want a beer... buy it!

Q: What time does all this madness begin?
A: If you're entering the show, you can begin arriving at 10am. If you're a patron the doors open to the public at noon!

Q: What time are awards presented?
A: About 8pm

Q: I want to enter the show, but I don't see a class that fits my vehicle.
A: Contact us immediately, we will try to accomodate you and we WILL add more classes if necessary!

Q: I see that the car show is titled "2kc Motorfest". What is 2kc?
A: 2kc represents the website www.2kc.org. 2kc.org is a community of automotive enthusiasts throughout mid-michigan. 2kc is NOT a car club.

Q: Is shooters going to be open as well during the show?
A: Yup! There's an arcade, a great restaurant and bar, plus there will be several bands playing inside that night!

Q: Is this going to be safe for my kids?
A: Yes, in fact we are ensuring that all the way up until 9pm the show will remain FAMILY FRIENDLY.

Q: So how late does this thing go?
A: After awards are presented, around 9:30PM or so the dance party with DJ Fade will begin and go all the way up until 2am!

Q: How do I get to shooters?
A: Shooters is located at 8845 Gratiot Road in Saginaw, Michigan.

Q: I'm a registered member on 2kc.org, can I still enter the show?
A: Of course! 2kc is not a car club, so no problem!

Q: What kind of media coverage is this show going to have?
A: The entire citadel radio group (102.5 WIOG, Z93, 104.5, and oldies96) will be present at the show and commercials for the show are currently airing on those stations plus it is airing on Joe 97.3FM. There will be a press release to the saginaw news and there should be a write up/pictures.
