They've released this new "Employee Guidebook" wich prohibits us from using our computers and other devices for "unofficial" purposes. I'm uninstalling AIM (will still have it at home), winamp, and will not be able to post during the day at work. Looks like I'll be getting a lot more done around her

So if you don't see me replying as much and participating in the forums, that's why. I'll still try to make it to my computer at home every day or two. This site is really becoming something and I don't want to cease participating in it. Keep up the good work everyone!

Joe: since yer the new expert on computers around here... I know I need to uninstall everything, and then use regclean to get rid of unused registry entries, clear out my history in my IE and empty out my cache... is there anything else I can do to erase more evidence???

I found a hidden folder called C:\Recycler which contains what looks like archived volumes of data I've told my recycling bin to remove. Do you know if it's safe to delete these? Could they be recovered by our IT dept?

Try a good uninstall program...although I am sure if you just clean everything out of regedit and make sure the old directories are gone from the hard drive you should be ok. As an Admin for a few computer labs I typically don't look much more than at the Program list under the start menu. If it was me I would ask them to reformat your computer, tell them something is wrong with it, or delete boot.ini or something in the C:\ drive so then it can't boot. Make sure you have anything you need backed up first. Nothing like a fresh computer after everything has been reinstalled.
