Anyone else attending?

http://www.precisionracing.org/index.php

There are 4 events that are close enough to drive to.

June 18-19, Balmoral Park in Chicago
June 25-26, Silverdome in Detroit
July 15-16, Silverdome in Detroit
Sept. 24-25, IX Center in Cleveland

The Evo in stock form with a few mods (very few) is listed in Grand Touring 1 (GT1). It looks like I'll be in the next class up, Modified Touring 1 (MT1). This allows me to stay within the SCCA STU rules.

Each modification is given a point value. In the GT1 class you are allowed 450 pts., whereas MT1 tops out at 800 pts. The top class for the Evo is called Open Touring (OT) and allows unlimited modifications.

In general, there are 3 parts to the series, the Autocross (more like a Pro Solo), the Drag, and the Skid Pad. The event is sanctioned by the SCCA. There's also a whole mess of other attractions to go along with the C&D series, similiar to a Nopi event.

I believe the Title is called "Hard Live Drive".

Maybe a group event?

What does it cost?

$99.00 per event and you must be pre-registered.

Just think, it's a 2 day event, you run all 3 segments (autocross, drag, skidpad), there's plenty of additional entertainment, and major media coverage. Oh, did I mention, cash and prize awards :)

It's going to be a blast! I will be attending at least one of the Detroit events and possibly the Chicago event, so if anyone needs some help, let me know.

I'm kinda scared of a drag event...stock clutch :(

So will you be getting a hotel in the area or will you just drive there both days?

I will likely stay with some friends 20 mins away or if we get a group together, I might be game for a Hotel.

I'm sure the Drag race part of the event will not be a 1/4 mile, probably closer to an 1/8th mile or less. It might be held on-site in the parking lot. We will have to wait and see until more information is posted. I also do not think they will be strict on safety as it is not sanctioned by NHRA or IHRA.

You know, some nice "miEVO.net" decals across my window will look nice in the tuner magazines, lol.

I'd be open to putting something on my front or rear window.

suggestion: It'd be cool if they came in our standard paint colors! like the current logo you're using... www.miEVO.net or just miEvo.net or heck, even just miEVO :?:
