Slim1974 asked in another post how old we are... I thought I'd start a new topic here.

I'm 24, w/ a two-year-old son. (single, ladies!) 8)

I really hope I'm not the oldest here. Until someone owns up to that, ya'll can call me the "Old Man" 8) ("Grandpa" is good too!)

But, about the "wiser" part...

My kids range from 21 down to (drumroll please...) one that is due in approx 3 weeks.

I truely am getting too old.

Ryan

Welcome...

So do you mean that your grandchild is three weeks away or another child of yours? Either way, congratulations!

EDIT: From the way your worded it, I think it's the latter of the two. But that can be fun. My uncle has remarried and has children the same age as his grandchildren. Nothing wrong with that!

EvoGLH

My 4th child is due approx Easter week - others are 21, 17 & 10

Have a 1.5 year-old grandchild, with a 2nd grandchild due mid-May.

Have the greatest wife - She doesn't want me to get rid of the Evo! :D (she says that when I put the car through it's paces it really gets her wet...)

On the other hand, a new child means modding the Evo moved down a few notches on our priority list...

MitsuJoe

WOW....your wife and my future wife need to mingle a bit, get her thinking that way too.

Congrats to hear about the addition to your family. Maybe we can call the you the miEVO Grandpa OR "Old Fart".....

Don't mind being referred to as "Old Man", Grandpa, etc. Kinda fun actually... I get lots of raised eyebrows  & surprised looks :o all the time.
Just remember - age before beauty, so the line starts behind me!

BTW - my kids' first names, in birth order, are:
Brandy,
Robert,
Alex,
Theresa.

Never let it be said that I don't have a sense of humor!

My girlfriend needs to hang out with your wife, as well, and hopefully that pro-fast car attitude will rub off.

I saw a Blue Evo in East Lansing parked by my work, so I rolled over and looked at it, when I was driving away I think I saw a middle aged guy waving at me, but wasn't sure. I tried to leave a note but he was gone when I returned from lunch...

I'm 25 and married. Luckily the wife is very understanding of the whole car modding thing. We met when I had a pretty decent civic hatch that snowballed into a money pit. It was a red EG with the ol' B18C swap. Actually, first one done in Michigan way back in 98. Anyone on here ever here of team toilet? We used to waste a ton of money on our cars. Anyways, thats my $0.02.

I'm also 25, will be married three years on May 31st. First kid is due October 19th. My little light business generates the money I can use on modding the car, otherwise I have to beg and plead and show projected money charts to my wife before I can buy any car mods :D

MitsuJoe
05-31-2005, 09:42 AM
I gotta see one of those projected money charts. I need something to introduce my wife to mods.

MitsuJoe

Very soon. We may have to do it for health insurance reasons firstly, and then do the actual ceremony sometime next year. So it is almost kosher to say "wife".

You've already noticed the medical benifits. On top of that, you're no longer considered a dependent of your parents, so you are eligible for all types of government aid, (housing, loans, etc.). Also, I believe you get tax breaks and the ability to have an increased gross income vs. only one of you.

Getting married doesn't help your tax status. The "married" filing standard deduction is less than what two "single" filing persons standard deductions would be when added together. The only way it would help is if one of the married couple doesnt work or contribute to the gross income figure. That's why they call it the marriage penalty. Funny name huh? The way to really get money back is to have kids and dont make a lot of money, or get a house and go to the doctor a lot.

My oldest 2 kids have cranked up the production line since this thread started: just found out that my 5th grandkid should be due next April.

Damn you Mitsubishi for not bringing the Evo wagon to the US!

Been with my wife since '93 (but we've only been married for the last 5.5 ) - not one fight, argument, yelling or pissing match so far. (Yes, I'm knocking on wood, LOL)
