I hope I don't have to switch hosts already!!

Yeah, wasn't able to get to it.
Suggestion: I noticed that when I went to edit a post, it wouldn't let me save the changes. It seems that the rule governing how often you post also limits how long it can be before you edit your post and save the changes. See if you can make it so you can instantly save your edited posts.

Two more things - first, there's no link back to the main page from the forums (at least not one I could find).
Also, how about a quick reply box at the bottom of threads?

I think I could work on that, for this to work how I want to you would need to be an official member that was listed on the members page at www.mievo.net/members/
Please e-mail me your information if you haven't already.

An RSS feed is basically an xml file that contains the 10 most recent posts or so. There are a ton of free apps that use RSS like Trillian or Sharpreader. The idea is that these programs check the rss feeds every 10 minutes or so and let you know when things have been updated. Most bulletin board programs have this functionality, but I wouldn't worry about it if it's going to take up too much time.

Hmm looks like XML code that I have no idea about....
I may look into it, although are you saying that a program like Trillian will connect to the RSS so you don't have to actually come on to the forums?

See this PHP BB software is quite simple and using the forum software like that on EVOM is a bit more difficult. It would require some PHP programming which I have very limited expereience. There are lots of "addons" I can get for this forum software which I will work on, but probably not until after may.
As far as a link back to the main page that would require some programming that I am unsure about. Not even the EVOM forum has a link back to the root of their site....at least not one that I have seen.
I changed the flood interval between posts down to 5 seconds, which should make editing posts much more simple and you won't have to wait. On EVOM you have to wait 45 seconds.

You have to come on to post, but you're notified with new posts on a little popup that contains the subject and the first sentence or two of the post. You don't have to know anything about XML really, it's just a matter of setting it up on a lot of BB software. I use YABB for my own forums and it was pretty easy to set up. But don't sweat it if you don't know anything about it.
EvoM forums have a picture logo at the upper left that is a link back to their root. Here's the source code they use...

the <img> tag above could be replaced by text if you don't have a image to use as the link.
The alt= attribute just gives the image a popup title when you mouseover it, and that will display if the picture doesn't work for some reason.

Done! Tell me what you think.

I knew you could do it! 8)
is anyone else having this problem or is it just me. I'll sometimes not get the "Orange" plus sign next to the threads that have new posts since I've logged on. I'll look at the dat of the most recent post, and it will be very recent, and I know I hadn't viewed it yet, but it is not orange? Just me?

That happens to me too. It went away when I switch over to the Netscape browser.
