I had the opportunity to pick up some X seats from a local customer that I am doing some really fun projects on his Evo X....but that is another story.

First off I really liked the support of the X seats from the first time I sat in them. I especially liked the color of them as well. The blue cloth on the 8 seats is not my favorite pattern.

So I picked these up thinking...Oh sure, they will bolt riht in! Not even close. Brackets are completely different. To make matters worse, the brackets on the X seats are welded to the sliders. The 8 brackets are bolted to the sliders. The X sliders are bolted to the seats from the side. The 8 sliders are bolted to the seats from the bottom. See where this is going lol. I quickly realized this was not going to be a quick swap.

The best solution I could come up with is unbolt the brackets from the 8 seats (after carefully measuring the seats and the studs and holes in floor). Then I had to cut off the brackets off the brand new Recaro X seats:p haha like it...the point of no return:cool:

It took a little bit of time but it came out great and I am real happy with the outcome and how perfect the seats fit. I am now going to look into reupholstering the rear seat centers to match the fronts.

On with the piqs!

The new seats awaiting surgery and then their new home!

I was so excited to see how they fit I forgot to take piqs of the 8 brackets welded onto the X seats... oh well.

Thanks, I am really happy with them. Now I am going to look at getting material from Recaro to do the rear centers.

lol Warren.

Evohang, I am actually going to use one for a gaming seat for myself and then the person I got the X seats from get the other one. So they are both spoken fore.

My next project....among the many, will be to build a structure that holds the Evo recaro and as well as a logitech steering wheel, pedals and shifter! I am a few weeks away from starting that though.
