oh yes this stuff is called chrome black, but it looks like cast iron grey, Rex even added some clearcoat to the pieces to really make them jump out at you

the pieces include
misc bolts
tranny Brackets
shifter cables bracket
Cam angle sensor housing
thermostat housing
plates for the timing area
timing tensioner arm

here are some cool before shots of the pieces before powdercoating began

Looking forward to seeing the valve cover. Its makes the biggest statement under the hood, I feel. I am so glad we didnt get stuck with those ghey a$$ plastic covers on our earlier models vs the X. If you have a beautiful powerplant, be proud and show it off!

I am going to redo my valve cover. Any ideas on what color? Blue Car...so no more blue under the hood.

Hey, I rreally like that chrome black. You must be getting ready for NOPI hehe Doing a little math Warren, heh?

Joe, you should start a thread about your valve cover and people and post their opinions. Like I said contrast, now its either really bold or not so much contrast lol. I will try and come up with some more specific ideas.

JOE/WAYNE... I found some interesting information regarding powder coat which both of you might like along with everyone else here on this forum....

********NEVER HAVE YOUR VALVE COVER OR ANY PART THAT IS ASSOCIATED WITH YOUR OIL SYSTEM BLASTED WITH SAND************ NEVER !!!!!!!!

I don;t care how much tape , plugs or kryptonite they use to block everything off, never have your powder coater ever use sand...

have them use baking soda instead, because it is dissolvable in water after the blasting has been completed :)
now maybe everyone knew this , but if you didn;t ... Now you know

Anyway my thoughts on your valve cover Joe... would be just like what wayne said,,, either something so far off the scale like HOT PINK OR orange or the ever popular flat black...

I on the other hand have something unique for my cover... hopefully it turns out well.. and it will definitely be aesthetically pleasing and functional to me at least.

yes wayne.. I have been busting out the good ol fluid dynamics as that relates to not only my career work but the same principles that hazen williams and bernoulli used can be adapted to air flow and fuel flow characteristics in any car for that matter.... Just like you wayne... I am a thinker that is simply trying to becoming better and innovate more things so that not only myself but others can benefit from it .
