Nice article, so it looks like the car has increased around 200lbs and possible lost some performance as compared to the 2.4 MIVEC now in the Ralliart model. Well maybe this MIVEC will have more to offer although I am surprised to see a world chrysler engine featuring MIVEC. According to SHowcase the new Lancer is being shipped here/imported. Considering that this means to me it may be more of a different animal when compared to the Caliber/Chrysler.
I look forward to the AWD/Turbo model coming...no not the X. They will be making one, to compete with the WRX. That will make an interesting price point.

No mention of the turbo version, and of course, jack-squat on the American Mitsu site...

My brother said he saw a new Lancer the other day in the Lansing area (at least he was pretty sure it was an Lancer). Didnt get a great view of it, but it was driving around.

WOW 10:1 compression, and 5W-20 oil!?Yeah, that's really gonna be a puny engine with no room at all for improvement or mods.
Mitsu has already formally announced that VNT-turbocharged diesel variant of the 4B11 engine is in the works for the Lancer lineup (Evo too ??), and should be ready for the 2009 model year...
(personally speaking, all you other guys can keep your 'big turbos': I wanna get my hands on a couple decent-sized VNT's...they may not boost as high, but there ain't no such thing as turbo lag with them puppies!! )
