would anybody be intrested in buying the prosport gauges. you can check them out at www.prosportgauges.com. They look very similar to the Defi gauges, but also do a nice 270 degree sweep, like the STI cluster.
Basically, i think we can get the boost, oil pressure and EGT gauges with sensors for under $150. on the index page, they say they are looking for group orders and will give discounts to car clubs. So I was wondering if any of you guys are interested to make a group buy. I haven’t contacted them or anything. I want to know the number of interested buyers.
Reply to this post if you’re interested and what gauge you would like.

It was good talking to you today. I think you will be really happy with the below prices. You will look like a hero. Let me know if you have any other questions or when you are ready to purchase. It would be great if you could get 10 sets of gauges sold and at the below price that should be easy..

Dual color~ Amber/white triple set EGT,Boost & Oil Pressure = $ 139.50 + $7.00 shipping each set for a total of $146.50 **That is less than our sale price without shipping**

this is how it breaks down:
EGT $81.50
Boost $28.50
Oil Press. $29.50

Digital A/F ratio $47.95
Shift Light $ 43.00

Let me know if you need any other pricing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i think the shipping charge is $7 for any of the gauges you buy. these prices are 12% off the prices they have now. the way the group buy will go is that payment will be sent to me through paypal or money order.if your paying through paypal, please include the 3% paypal fee. so for the order of the 3 gauges, please send $151.19. then when i receive all the payments, i am going to give him the list of orders, and he will ship them out to each person indivisually.
i would want to receive all payments by this friday. i must have 10 people, which i think i am close to. i really want to shoot for 20 so i can get the prices a bit cheaper.

here is the list of intrested people
1) my self (galantvr4.org forums)
2) allan619 (galantvr4.org forums)
3) VRausch4 (galantvr4.org forums)

Dang, now I'm thinking about getting that EGT gauge - since I just bought (Friday evening) the Boost and Oil Pressure gauge, is there anyway to get the EGT gauge for the broken down price as well? Let me know, thanks!

Does the EGT come with the probe?

Is it like the autometer sender that will go bad in a few months? Does it come with the proper fitting to work on the EVO or do I need to get that from 42draftdesigns?

Here is what the website says:

" Exhaust Gas Temperature Gauge

Using a microprocessor controlled 270˚ sweep stepper movement for accuracy, now you can easily learn the EGT temperature & how your modifications will affect the engine performance. With this gauge you can now tune your vehicle for peak performance.

(0-2500˚ F includes Sender, Mounting Hardware and Instructions)"

Is the probe the same as the sender? If so, then it looks like it includes it as well.

ok got some good and bad news. this is the email i got from prosport today

That is fine have them pay us directly. I have one small problem, we will have to push out the ship date untill the end of the month as one of our distributors just placed a huge order and almost clean us out of EGT gauges (I think I have 3 left) They are already in production so I anticipate having them ready to ship right near the last day of the month.

you would only need to send payment directly to him, so you can save the $5 on the paypal fee. i do have his paypal email address. but the bad news is that he wont be shipping any until the end of this month. i REALLY wanted these gauges ASAP, so it kinda hurts that it will take this long.
let me know what you guys think

yes it comes with an EGT probe. but i haven't heard of any autometer probe faliures. my brother has had the autometer EGT probe for over a year now. he had it in the wrx, and then moved it to the sti. In any case, there is a years warranty, so you should be good.
now i have seen that 45 degree fitting that 42draftdesigns has. i am buying it, so i recommend you do so. the 45 degree fitting is designed to keep the oil pressure sender out of the way. however, i am not sure if these gauges come with the right adapter. even with the autometer oil pressure gauges, you still have to buy a 1/8npt converter.

Couple questions - I'm guessing by the cheap price of the A/F meter, you still need to buy a seperate wideband O2 sensor, right?

Also, on the EGT probe, would that require drilling and tapping the exhaust header, or does it go somewhere else along the line?

elhalisf

for the A/F meter, you can tap into your O2 sensor readings.
for the EGT probe, you will need to tap into the exhaust manifold.

MitsuJoe

The air fuel guage is a narrowband guage, which uses your existing O2 sensor.

Zack,
I actually only want the boost/oil pressure guages. If you want to go in on this group buy and buy the EGT part I would be interested.

OHHH you already got your stuff??? i thought he was gonna ship out everything next week.
let me know where you buy that adapter from.

dEVOshun
04-27-2006, 10:33 PM
Faisil, the adapter can be found at www.42draftdesigns.com I believe.

otter
04-28-2006, 12:08 AM
Every place I find the adapter is charging $5 to ship the damn thing. We're talking about a tiny 3 oz piece of metal that costs less than $1 to ship via USPS. Cheapest I'm finding is about $11.50+$5 to ship.

There's a few adapters available, though. 42draftdesigns sells one for Evo guys (don't know if I can use it) that allows you to put the sender at the oil filter, probably a better option for the Evos. The one I'm looking for lets me put the sender where the stock oil pressure sender is on the back of the block.

Z_lancerman

There's a place in Ann Arbor, Stadium Hardware on West Stadium that sells the adapter I believe. They have the largest hardware selection in the area. Try them out.

Ahh, I know that place, they do have a ton of that kind of stuff. I'll head over there tomorrow.

Did you find the right adapter Rob?

otter
04-29-2006, 12:09 PM
No, and I asked. People who worked there looked at me like I was high. If it's there, and they're wrong, I'm going to go back and throw them at their heads.

Note: There, their, and they're used correctly in one sentence. Proof that this place is better than EvoM.
