I'm in the process of doing a turbo upgrade 20g IX w/ 10.5 hotside and injectors (680cc)...and probably a aftermarket clutch & flywheel..

I ordered the turbo and injectors and am awaiting its arrival... I currently have a mail in dynoflash.com from AL.. with the following mods - 264 cams, cam gears, full exhaust, upgraded fuel pump, turbosmart bov, upgraded intercooler piping, greddy e-01 digitial boost controller (im getting rid of this and going to manual i think), some kind of air intake, and a MR exhaust manifold/header..

By the time my turbo is installed.. I m going to need a custom tune/or can i just do another mail in.....?? I was under the impression that i could not have a mail away flash for a turbo/injector upgrade that it needs to be custom..is this true??.. all the prices on evolutionm.net are confusing to me... So whats the price for a custom tune and are their any spots left looked like on www.evolutionm.net it was pretty full...

So if i want a basic custom tune/flash with Vishnu its $300.00??, I m considering this because i thought you cant do a mail away and i don't know if AL is coming to buschurracing.com in April...

If I were in your shoes with as much as you have already spent, I would not even consider a mail-in Flash. There is no question that all of the Flash tuner shops will do a mail-in Flash based on your mods, but you definitely will not get the most out of your combination. And yes, they can compensate for larger injectors.

You are correct about the $300.00 for an Evo 8 custom Flash (Xflash). There is also a $95.00 cost to Axis Power Racing & Tuning for the dyno time.

I'm not partial to any tuner, but Shiv is very good. I too have a Dynoflash presently but my new set-up is based on a competitve SCCA Solo2 class and Vishnu has the tuning hardware/software that fits. It's not often Shiv makes a trip out to the Midwest.

There is also AMS in Chicago that could do a custom Flash for your application. Martin at AMS is an excellent tuner also.

Your choice, but I would recommend a custom tune vs. a mail-in.
