Hey Everyone!

Be sure to free up July 22nd on your calendars and come to the 2kc Motorfest! Hopefully I'll have my new car there, and we can organize a midnight cruise afterwards!

The first version of the flyer can be downloaded here: http://www.2kc.org/motorfest/2006FlyerV1.pdf

What: 2006 2kc motorfest
Where: Shooters of Saginaw
When: July 22nd, 2006

At shooters once again. Show cars will be on the grass again... Ask your questions here, and i'll get them answered. I'll do a full write-up shortly.

Many new surprises in store this year :D Until these are locked in though, i'll refrain from making them public. New events will be added to the show in the coming months, and as such.. new versions of the flyer will be released periodically. Keep checking this thread for updates.

A notable thing to mention this year is the addition of the Miscellaneous class. If it's got a motor, it moves, and doesn't fall in to any other listed class, enter it here! This class will only have one award, and will be judged by the crowd. Golf carts, go carts, dune buggies, you name it.... enjoy!

One more thing... for those of you that think you're the fastest and the baddest... PROVE IT. Run on the Dyno for a shot at the "King of Motorfest" award and have the true bragging rights...

Pre-registration is also up and running! http://www.2kc.org/motorfest

Vendors:

2006 motorfest planning has begun. We need vendors for this upcoming year. For those that don't know, vendors are businesses or people selling things. I have dropped the vendor space price this year down to a mere $35 per spot. Please, post here if you wish to take out a vendor space or also post ideas for businesses that I can contact. Vendors do NOT have to be automotive related!

Sponsors:

Sponsors are different from vendors in the sense that, you pay $50 and it gets your company name on all promotional material for the motorfest. Including the 2006 motorfest T-shirt. You don't necessarily have to be a business to be a sponsor. If you're just an individual, we'll print your name on the shirts and all promotional material.

Now, if you pitch in $100... That will get your name AND logo on the shirt and all promotional material in a PRIME spot. Plus, I will throw in a vendor space for your business at no additional charge.

Forgot to mention....one of the trophies is for best club participation. If we could get enough MI Evo guys and gals to come (in regular Lancers or Evos...whatever) we could win :)

Will cars be in the parking lot this year?

I think this is still under consideration. With the location set up the way that it is, the parking lot is not big enough for all of the cars, PLUS it would make it extremely difficult to park spectator's cars on the grass because they would constantly be driving in and out of the show car area. I think we're going to have it held on the grass again. Last year Timmy was a trooper and got all the field prep done himself. This year I'm going to help out, and we're trying to find others too...we're going to try to have the grass cut down really short and have it well groomed. Also, the cars will be arranged a little different, although that hasn't been finalized yet either. First one is always a trial and error kind of thing, and this year we'll be learning from last year's problems and will make it even more of a success, so EVERYONE get there! I'll try to see if I can get Timmy to have an Evo spot if we can get enough people.

Unless I am mistaken this is the same day as the meet in Kalamazoo! I would like to pick up that manifold from you this weekend. Maybe I can stop by on the way up to Oscoda tomorrow evening. I will give you a call on Fri.
